A Short Rejection Letter

Captain Recruiter uses some automation to send rejection letters, but I used to write every note by hand. I'd usually write something like...
    Hi X,

Company A has decided not to pursue your application, but thanks for applying.

Some people's rejection letters are more direct than I mine.

  1. At least you have the smarts to "close the loop", as so many do not. Not doing so simply leaves one of these negative impressions with the candidate: We're Arrogant, We're Naive or We're Totally Disorganized.

Why do organizations think they can live that down?

    - Kevin M.

  2. I understand you because some people don't have the guts to tell the news that could possibly hurt the reader. That was a nice attitude but you should know that in life sometimes the thing that could hurt can be the reason for someone to became a great person.
